- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, freshly shredded
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Whisk in flour and stir constantly for 1-2 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Slowly pour in the milk, whisking to avoid lumps. Cook until slightly thickened.
- Lower heat and stir in the cream cheese until smooth.
- Gradually add the shredded cheddar cheese, stirring constantly.
- Mix in garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne (if using), salt, and pepper.
- Adjust consistency with a splash of milk if needed.
- Serve warm with pretzels, chips, or veggies. Garnish with paprika or green onions if desired.
