Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Whisk in flour and stir constantly for 1-2 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  3. Slowly pour in the milk, whisking to avoid lumps. Cook until slightly thickened.
  4. Lower heat and stir in the cream cheese until smooth.
  5. Gradually add the shredded cheddar cheese, stirring constantly.
  6. Mix in garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne (if using), salt, and pepper.
  7. Adjust consistency with a splash of milk if needed.
  8. Serve warm with pretzels, chips, or veggies. Garnish with paprika or green onions if desired.
