Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Cook Beef: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
- Add Vegetables: Add the chopped onion and garlic to the beef, and cook for 2-3 minutes until the onion becomes translucent. Stir in the mixed vegetables.
- Make Sauce: Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir well. Gradually add beef broth while stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Add heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes until the mixture thickens.
- Prepare Pie: Pour the beef mixture into a pie dish. Cover it with the puff pastry, trimming the edges as needed. Seal the edges by pressing with a fork.
- Egg Wash: Brush the top with beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake: Cut small slits on top of the pastry to allow steam to escape. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown.
