Description

A delightful layered dessert featuring a chocolate cookie crust, creamy ice cream, and rich chocolate ganache.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups crushed chocolate cookies
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 quart strawberry ice cream
  • 1 quart vanilla ice cream
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Optional: extra strawberries and chocolate for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare Crust: In a medium bowl, combine crushed chocolate cookies and melted butter. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. Freeze for 15 minutes to set.
  2. Ice Cream: Allow the strawberry ice cream to soften slightly. Spread it evenly over the cookie crust. Sprinkle a layer of sliced strawberries over the ice cream. Freeze for 30 minutes to set.
  3. Vanilla Layer: Allow the vanilla ice cream to soften slightly. Spread it evenly over the strawberry layer. Freeze for at least 1 hour or until the ice cream is firm.
  4. Chocolate Ganache: In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer. Remove from heat and add the chocolate chips. Let sit for 2 minutes, then stir until smooth and glossy.
  5. Ganache: Remove the cake from the freezer. Pour the chocolate ganache over the top, allowing it to drip down the sides. Freeze for another 30 minutes to set the ganache.
