Description

A delicious rice-based bread, perfect for any meal!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 350 grams rice (I used short grain Italian)
  • 200 millilitres warm water (warm not hot)
  • 5 grams salt
  • 7 grams active dry yeast
  • 20 grams honey
  • 30 grams avocado oil (any will work)

Instructions

  1. Soak the rice in water overnight.
  2. In the morning, drain and discard the soaking water.
  3. In your blender, combine the warm water, honey, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes, until foamy.
  4. Add the soaked rice, salt, and oil to the blender. Blend until smooth and fully combined. The mixture should feel smooth, not grainy.
  5. Pour the mixture into a parchment-lined loaf pan and spread evenly.
  6. Let it rest at room temperature for 1 hour to rise.
  7. Place the pan in a cold oven, then bake at 350F (175C) for 30-40 minutes, or until set and lightly golden.
  8. Let it rest, and enjoy!

Notes

  • Ensure the water is warm, not hot, to activate the yeast properly.
  • Letting the bread rest before slicing will improve the texture.
