Description

Tender chicken cooked in a rich gravy, perfect served over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 2 packets chicken gravy mix
  • 1 can (10 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 1/2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or heavy cream (optional)
  • Fresh chopped parsley (for garnish)
  • Mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Place chicken in the bottom of the slow cooker in a single layer.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together gravy packets, cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and thyme.
  3. Pour the gravy mixture evenly over the chicken.
  4. Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.
  5. Once cooked, shred the chicken in the slow cooker or leave whole.
  6. Stir in sour cream or heavy cream if using, and allow it to warm for 5–10 minutes.
  7. Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, noodles, or biscuits.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley and enjoy.
