- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 cup uncooked white or brown rice
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 large egg
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix ground beef, rice, onion, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, egg, and Parmesan until combined.
- Form the mixture into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and place on the baking sheet.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté meatballs until browned on all sides (approximately 5 minutes).
- Pour tomato sauce over the meatballs; bring to simmer and cook for about 20 minutes.
- Transfer to the oven and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes until fully cooked.
Notes
- Serve with spaghetti or in a sub for a meatball sandwich.
- For extra flavor, add chopped fresh herbs like parsley or basil.
