Description
A delicious meatloaf featuring ground beef, bacon, mushrooms, and cheddar cheese.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb bacon, chopped
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the Bacon: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Sauté the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add olive oil and sauté the onions and garlic until translucent. Add the mushrooms and cook until they are golden brown. Set aside.
- Prepare the Meatloaf Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, half of the cooked bacon, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and half of the cheese. Mix until well combined.
- Shape the Meatloaf: On a lined baking sheet, shape the meat mixture into a loaf. Press the mushroom mixture on top, followed by the remaining cheese and bacon.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the meatloaf is cooked through.
- Garnish: Remove from oven and allow to rest for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add some thyme or rosemary to the meat mixture.
- Ensure not to overmix the meatloaf mixture to keep it tender.
- Let the meatloaf rest before slicing to allow juices to redistribute.
