Description

A delicious meatloaf featuring ground beef, bacon, mushrooms, and cheddar cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the Bacon: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  3. Sauté the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add olive oil and sauté the onions and garlic until translucent. Add the mushrooms and cook until they are golden brown. Set aside.
  4. Prepare the Meatloaf Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, half of the cooked bacon, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and half of the cheese. Mix until well combined.
  5. Shape the Meatloaf: On a lined baking sheet, shape the meat mixture into a loaf. Press the mushroom mixture on top, followed by the remaining cheese and bacon.
  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the meatloaf is cooked through.
  7. Garnish: Remove from oven and allow to rest for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add some thyme or rosemary to the meat mixture.
  • Ensure not to overmix the meatloaf mixture to keep it tender.
  • Let the meatloaf rest before slicing to allow juices to redistribute.
