Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder if using.
- Cut in Butter: Add the cold butter cubes to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add Cheese: Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until it is evenly distributed.
- Add Buttermilk: Gradually add the buttermilk, stirring until the dough is just combined. It will be sticky.
- Shape Biscuits: Turn the dough out onto a floured surface. Gently pat the dough to about 1-inch thickness. Use a biscuit cutter to cut out rounds and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top.
- Brush with Butter: Remove from the oven and immediately brush the tops with melted butter.
- Garnish: Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm.
