Description
This herb butter is perfect for steaks, veggies, potatoes, or bread.
Ingredients

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon chili flakes
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon chopped chives or other herbs (optional)
Instructions
- Let the butter come to room temperature until softened but not melted.
- Mince the garlic finely and chop the fresh parsley (and optional herbs).
- Zest the lemon, avoiding the white pith.
- Combine the softened butter, garlic, parsley, chili flakes, lemon zest, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper in a medium bowl.
- Mix thoroughly with a spatula or fork until well combined and smooth.
- Transfer the mixture to parchment or plastic wrap and shape into a log.
- Wrap tightly and chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour or freeze for longer storage.
- Slice as needed to use on steaks, veggies, potatoes, or bread.
- Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or freezer for up to 3 months.
- Let come to room temperature before spreading or serve cold on hot food.
