Description

This Caramel Toffee Crunch Cake is rich, indulgent, and the perfect dessert for any occasion!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup toffee bits
  • 1 1/2 cups caramel sauce
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • 1/2 cup crushed toffee or caramel candies for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.

  2. Creaming the Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. Mixing Wet Ingredients: Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  4. Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  5. Combine Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture alternatively with the buttermilk, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined. Fold in the toffee bits.

  6. Baking: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan.

  7. Topping the Cake: Once the cake is cool, spread the whipped cream over the top. Drizzle generously with caramel sauce. Sprinkle the crushed toffee or caramel candies over the top.

Notes

  • Make sure the cake is completely cool before adding the whipped cream to prevent melting.
  • For a richer flavor, you can use homemade caramel sauce.
  • If desired, add a pinch of sea salt to the caramel for a salted caramel version.
  • Ensure even mixing to avoid air pockets in the cake, but avoid over-mixing, which can make the cake dense.
