Description
Delicious apple cinnamon wraps, perfect for a warm dessert!
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced (Mix of sweet and tart apples recommended.)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- A pinch salt
- 2 large flour tortillas (Whole wheat or corn tortillas can be used as alternatives.)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (Divide into two tablespoons for cooking.)
- To taste additional brown sugar for dusting (Optional for extra sweetness.)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine thinly sliced apples, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Toss until the apples are evenly coated.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the apple mixture and sauté for about 5-7 minutes, or until the apples are slightly softened and caramelized. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Lay out one tortilla on a clean surface. Spoon a generous portion of the apple filling onto the center of the tortilla. Roll it up tightly, tucking in the sides as you go. Repeat with the second tortilla.
- In the same skillet, melt the remaining tablespoon of butter. Place the wrapped tortillas seam-side down on the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crisp.
- In a small bowl, mix the remaining brown sugar with melted butter until smooth. Drizzle over the cooked wraps.
- Slice the wraps diagonally. If desired, sprinkle with additional brown sugar for extra sweetness. Enjoy while warm!
Notes
- For a different flavor, try using a combination of sweet apples like Honeycrisp and tart apples like Granny Smith.
- Serve with a side of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
